AED fosters community development by facilitating citizens' active engagement in their communities, local government, and local civil society.
Our Community Peace Building and Development Project mobilized Liberia's fragmented communities around shared interests in infrastructure needs, income generation, food security, and peace. Using the innovative REFLECT social mobilization methodology, community members choose and implement development projects, increase adult literacy and income generation skills, and foster peace.
In our Sri Lanka Peace Support Program, citizens in People's Forums design and implement action plans to meet identified community development needs
Our Bosnia and Herzegovina Governance Accountability Project promotes community development by facilitating municipality-citizen collaboration in jointly addressing local needs.
