USAID Mechanisms Held by AED/CCSG
The AED Center for Civil Society and Governance holds a number of mechanisms that allow USAID missions and operating units to rapidly access the services of AED and our consortium members. These services include short- and long-term program design and implementation, assessment and evaluation, training, technical assistance, and grants program management.
Leader with Associate Awards (LWA)
- Capable Partners Program (CAP)
Worldwide mechanism to bolster the organizational and technical capacities of civil society organizations and networks in or across any sector; disseminate best practices; enhance linkages among CSOs, government, and others; and promote advocacy for key policies and programs.

Indefinite Quantity Contracts (IQC)
- Instability, Crisis, and Recovery Programs (ICRP)
Worldwide mechanism to provide support to countries that are in the throes of violent conflict or are struggling to recover from it, and fragile states that are drifting toward state collapse or the onset of civil war. This mechanism is used to respond to requests for conflict and fragility assessments, specialized research on different factors linked to conflict and fragility, rapid programmatic response, monitoring and evaluation, training, and specialized technical assistance.

- Building Recovery and Reform through Democratic Governance (BRDG)
Subpartner to DAI. Worldwide mechanism to promote democratic governance in countries in all stages of political development by providing long- and short-term technical assistance and project implementation.

- Analytical Services
Subpartner to ARD, Inc. Worldwide mechanism to provide technical support such as assessments, evaluations and strategic planning for sound design and implementation of democracy and governance programs. Analytical Services is divided into: (1) core program support analytical services; and (2) core research and development services.

Subpartner to DAI. Worldwide mechanism to support program design, implementation, and evaluation in the areas of decentralization, sub-national governance strengthening, and public management improvement.

- Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI): Democracy Initiatives Programs
Mechanism to submit unsolicited proposals to the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs (DOS/NEA), designed to provide functional and regional expertise in the areas of democratic governance, civil society advocacy, and youth leadership development.
