Regional Democracy Initiative IQCs

CCSG holds all three Regional Democracy Initiative (REDI) IQCs, a mechanism specifically dedicated to promoting democratic reform in the Middle East region.

As a prime on REDI-Civil Society, CCSG offers its expertise in the following areas:

  • Strengthening indigenous civil society organizations and networks
  • Establishing/ensuring media freedom and freedom of information
  • Building the capacity of independent media
  • Protecting human rights

CCSG also has subcontractor roles under the REDI Governance and REDI Justice IQCs. REDI Governance supports democratic local government strengthening, decentralization processes, and anti-corruption reforms. REDI Justice builds the capacity of regional justice sectors, strengthens the legal framework/legislative function, and strengthens the rule of law.

For information on any of these IQCs, please contact Michael Kott, Vice President and Director of CCSG, at 202.884.8241 or mkott@aed.org.
