Barney Singer is Vice-President and Director of the Capable Partners Program (CAP). Barney has extensive experience in the fields of organizational development and community mobilization. He has been with AED since 1999 and has worked on both U.S. and internationally focused initiatives, including USAID's CHANGE project to develop and disseminate innovative behavior change interventions in 16 countries. He has worked with a variety of organizations on a wide range of topics, including strategic planning, participatory evaluation, labor law compliance and board development, and he has lectured on the application of social marketing and communication principles in development contexts at the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. Barney's prior professional experiences include directing a health services research and evaluation program for the U.S. Public Health Service and serving as an advocate on civil rights, disability and work place issues before the U.S. Congress and federal agencies.
