Lisa Peterson, Senior Program Officer

As Senior Program Officer for CCSG, Lisa Peterson currently focuses on youth and peacebuilding, anti-corruption, and democracy-governance (DG) funding trends. She authored the CCSG publication Youth as a Catalyst for Peace: Helping Youth Develop the Vision, Skills, and Behaiors to Promote Peace (2005).

Lisa has worked in the DG and human rights fields for over 15 years. She began work as a DG specialist for AED in 1992 and spent four years as the manager of USAID's Center for Democracy and Governance Information Unit and two years as DG Research Analyst for USAID's Africa Bureau Information Center. She has lived and worked in Guatemala, Botswana, and Bolivia, as an independent consultant focused primarily on decentralization and municipal development issues.

Lisa received her BA in political science and history from Colorado College and her MA in African Studies and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University's Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
